Who doesn't love a tray bake?!
A tray bake refers to a method of cooking where ingredients are arranged in a single layer in a large, shallow baking tray or dish and then baked in the oven. Easy, peasy, honestly tasty! This cooking technique is popular for its simplicity and efficiency, allowing all components of the meal—whether they be meats, vegetables, or a combination thereof—to cook evenly and absorb flavours effectively.
Tray bakes are particularly favoured for their convenience, as they often require minimal preparation and cleanup. They are versatile, accommodating a wide variety of ingredients and seasonings, which makes them a popular choice for busy weeknights, family dinners, or meal prepping. From savoury dishes to sweet treats, tray bakes can cover a broad spectrum of recipes.
It's a great way to use up leftover veg, seasonal veg - whatever is in the fridge, combined with your favourite cheese (we've gone for blue this time, but think the right veg would work wonderfully with our Garlic & Herb!) and, if you're looking for something a little more filling - add a chunk of bread for mopping up the delicious oil and/or your favourite grains for something a little more substantial, but healthy too (most likely bonus fibre points on top!).
